The next Open Meeting is entitled “Songs through the ages with community singing” and is on Monday 20th February 2023 at the Bowling Club in Abbey Lane, doors open at 2:00 pm for a 2:30 pm start.
Unfortunately, due to illness, Saffron Summerfield will not be performing at the Open Meeting this coming Monday 20th February. However, at short notice, we have another singer/speaker – Quintus Benziger whose subject will be “Songs through the ages with community singing”.
Quintus Benziger is a musician with a lifetime of teaching experience and who is still enthusiastic about making music with those of all ages and ability. He is a conductor, accompanist, church organist and a music examiner. He has also written and directed many musicals for schools. He has become increasingly well-known for his Saffron Choral PROMPT recordings which have helped thousands of choral singers, in Britain and overseas, to learn their parts. These singers include many visually impaired people with his links with RNIB.
We hope that you will come along and enjoy the afternoon with the usual free raffle, refreshments and plenty of socialising with your u3a friends. Remember its 2:00 pm for a 2:30 pm start at the Bowling Club in Abbey Lane. See you there.
