Day trip to Eel Pie Island: Tuesday 2nd November 2021
Eel Pie Island is an 8,935-acre private island in the River Thames at Twickenham. You’ll visit the museum and learn the island’s history and how it became a haven for musicians during the 1950s jazz scene, with an introductory tour and slide presentation.
There is a 2 course lunch included with tea/coffee at the Eel Pie Pub – a menu will be available nearer the time. Our tour guide will show us points of interest on our coach trip over Richmond Bridge with lovely views of the Thames and the Georgian style embankment, moving on to the site of the Crawdaddy Club and hear about it’s heyday during the Swinging Sixties – you’ll hear what Mick Jagger said to Paul McCartney when they met here in Richmond. Access to the island is strictly for residents only.
Price £50 depending on numbers, minimum 35 people. For any further details please contact Jim Dwyer on 07531 115160 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
