Group Co-ordinator Jean Mead – 01799 501 405 – j.mead@mac.com

We meet each Tuesday afternoon from 2.00 to 4.00pm in the United Reformed Church Hall, Abbey Lane, Saffron Walden

We have a varied programme using different media, but members are free to interpret this as they wish or do their own work. Members are asked to bring their own art materials. Beginners are welcome. A fee is charged each per term to cover the cost of the tutor and the hall.

At present the class is full and there is a short waiting list. Contact the above group co-ordinator if you wish to be put on the waiting list.

From Update
Art class is about the fun of exploring various ways of being creative – with paints, inks, pastels, charcoal, paper, scissors and glue etc. The above artworks were made by cutting shapes into a square of black paper, turning them outwards and sticking them down.  One was made by our tutor and the others by me. Our tutor provides a programme of different projects, designed to improve our grasp of colour, tone and composition. It is interesting to see the individual ways in which  we  all  interpret  these  ideas.  We  sometimes  surprise  ourselves!  Last  Christmas  we lunched together at the Saffron Hotel and exchanged handmade greetings cards. At a recent session we tucked into homemade fairy cakes, collected donations and held a raffle in aid of Comic Relief. The class is full at present and we have a short waiting list. Esther Rawlings
